Jointer Alignment Information

Test was performed on test parts 48 inches long that were joined and measured for straightness.  Straightness tests were performed supporting the test parts on machinist 123 blocks separated by 31 inches. Using a Last Word Indicator and surface gaga.

Set Outfeed to drop 0.022 in 15 inches, approximate depth of cut 1/16 inch

Set Outfeed to rise up 0.025 in 15 inches, approximate depth of cut 1/16 inch

Set Outfeed Table Up 0.006 inches (Higher than cutter head), approximate depth of cut 1/16 inch.  This produced a taper, only first 10 inches of 48 inches was cut.

Set Outfeed Table Up 0.003 inches (Higher than cutter head), approximate depth of cut 1/16 inch.  This produced a taper, only first 33 inches of 48 inches was cut.  When set on 123 blocks this appeared to have a bow down but was due to one end setting on cut portion and the other end on uncut portion.

Set Outfeed Table down 0.012 inches (Lower than cutter head), approximate depth of cut 1/16 inch.
