About half of the battalion was raised in Franklin Co., MO. This battalion was merged into the 9th MO Cav. on July 03, 1862 and the 6 companies of the 9th MO Cav. were merged with 6 companies of the 10th MO Cav. into the 10th MO Cav. Vols.
