SERVICE.--Duty at Independence and Sedalla, Mo., till July. 1862. Campaign against Porter's and Poindexter's guerrillas July 20-September 10. Pursuit of Poindexter with skirmishes at Switzler's Mills Little Compton or Compton's Ferry on Grand River and on Yellow Creek on the Mussel Fork of Chariton River August 8-15. Expedition to Eureka, Boone County, September 23-24. At Independence and Sedalla till January, 1864. Operations against Marmaduke April 17-May 2, 1863. Merrill's Crossing and Dug Fork near Jonesboro September 12. Marshall, Arrow Rock, Blackwater, October 13. Operations against Shelby September 27-October 26. Disbanded January 17,1864.
Battery lost during service 4 Enlisted men killed and mortally wo'inded and 1 Officer and 6 Enlisted men by disease. Total 11.
